KFUMs Sociale Arbejde i Danmark is searching for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead KFUMs Sociale Arbejde i Danmark's mechanical engineering efforts, including overseeing junior mechanical engineers. This is a critical role that will own the design and development of all mechanical systems required for KFUMs Sociale Arbejde i Danmark's products and test systems.
What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of all aspects of mechanical engineering, from initial concepts and trade studies to detailed design, analysis, prototyping, and production release.
- Lead mechanical design reviews.
- Design, analyze, simulate, prototype, and test enclosures for outdoor wireless products.
- Design and develop custom fixtures and tools for product manufacturing and testing.
- Perform thermal and structural analysis (hand calculations and FEA simulations).
- Develop and maintain thermal and structural analysis models, including correlation with test data.
- Lead and/or assist with system integration activities, including PCB integration into mechanical enclosures.
- Collaborate closely with Electrical, RF, and Manufacturing Engineers.
- Create and release detailed mechanical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Work with external vendors for prototyping and production.
- Build and test initial prototypes of newly designed products.
- Set up and perform environmental, shock, and vibration testing.
- Mentor junior mechanical engineers.
What You’ll Need
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and creating detailed mechanical drawings.
- Experience with FEA tools (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, COMSOL) for structural and thermal analysis.
- Strong understanding of thermal management techniques for electronic components and enclosures.
- Experience in designing robust enclosures for outdoor electronic products, including sealing (IP rating), material selection, and environmental considerations.
- Experience with mechanical design for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, assembly, and testing of mechanical systems.
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, machining, and injection molding.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience designing mechanical systems for RF/microwave products, including waveguides, filters, and antennas.
- Experience with design and analysis of heat sinks and cooling systems for high-power electronics.
