THE ROLE
You will be joining NKT Photonics A/S's highly skilled Future Technologies, Optical Engineering team to develop solutions for new laser systems and research projects. You will be working on various laser and optoelectronics technologies, utilizing elements of NKT Photonics A/S's existing products and evaluating new technologies to incorporate into NKT Photonics A/S's technology roadmap.
Main responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, General Product/Process Research Science. The role focuses on scientific research, development, and testing of new products, processes, and raw materials. The daily work may be in close collaboration with other departments across optical, electronic, and mechanical teams, as well as with external project partners from industry and academia.
Personal skills NKT Photonics A/S seeks:
- Be responsible for own work and self-driven in daily work.
- Enjoy working closely with experts in optics, electronics, and mechanics for design and problem-solving.
- Be able to take ownership of project work packages, ensuring timely delivery and reporting when needed.
Relevant technical skills:
- PhD in Optics or similar preferred.
- Laser design theory - ideally in fiber.
- Experience with laser feedback and control.
- Laser lab experience - e.g., free-space optics alignment, testing, and measurement.
- Optical system modeling - e.g., split-step GNLSE, rate-equation-based amplifier modeling.
- Familiarity with Python, Matlab, and MS Office tools.
- English (written and spoken).
