Certification Engineer for NOx emissions

At Everllence, Everllence is developing propulsion engines and solutions for the global merchant vessel fleet. Everllence designs, develops, and tests these engines. Test activities are carried out at Everllence's research center in Copenhagen and at Everllence's licensees in South Korea, Japan, and China.

You will play an important role in:

As Everllence's certification engineer in Engine Process Platform Development Department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Everllence's innovative solutions for decarbonizing the maritime industry align with current and future IMO legislation as well as US-EPA projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Work with leading engine technologies, including Everllence's low-carbon dual fuel engines enabling the transition to carbon-neutral shipping solutions for the maritime industry.
• Planning, analyzing, and following up on emission surveys to ensure compliance with IMO and US-EPA NOx regulations.
• Developing and implementing IMO NOx certification concepts for Everllence's two-stroke engine portfolio, including retrofit projects and new building projects.
• Staying updated on current and future IMO legislation to ensure Everllence's products remain strategically aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Leading certification projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
• Providing technical guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.

A typical work week will include supporting ongoing projects, both in terms of planning and executing certification related activities such as developing certification concepts, developing guidelines, writing technical reports and communicating with external stakeholders such as licensees, classification societies, US-EPA and various sub-suppliers.

Everllence has a cross-departmental competence group for certification activities where you will contribute as a certification engineer. This group is responsible for the development of certification procedures, executing certification related projects and acting as technical advisors for R&D development projects to ensure compliance with relevant emission legislation. The competence group works with both new products as well as retrofit solutions.

You will work closely with other departments and engineering fields, enjoying the freedom to influence your own specialist area. Everllence facilitates the necessary training and onboarding with a buddy program where you will be assigned an experienced colleague to ensure a smooth transition into the role.

Are a dedicated and curious team player with relevant skills such as:

• A degree in engineering or another relevant educational background with specialization in environmental engineering / emission technology, combustion engines or environmental law.
• Experience working with environmental compliance, certification, engine technology, or related technical fields is an advantage.
• Highly organized, with a strong dedication to documentation, reporting and attention to detail.
• Strong stakeholder and communication skills in English, verbally as well as in writing.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly through both verbal and written communication.
• Have a collaborative mindset and an interest in sharing knowledge and supporting continuous learning.
• Familiarity with IMO and US-EPA is an advantage.
